I love these people! I love these images! I love this couple ! I love these kids !
Sometimes, (and this is why I do what I do)… sometimes you meet people who just capture your heart. Their chaos matches your chaos and you can laugh and talk about anything. You can vent or you can boast, and you just get each other.
That’s MJ. I met MJ when I did an amazing Boudoir shoot for her.
We had so much fun she hired me again to do her family portraits. It was flattering, but it was also so touching. So not only have I seen MJ nudies… I’m also getting to know her as a really great friend.
We did the shoot at Main Street Station in downtown Richmond, Virginia. Check out how awesome these images are!
The expressions, the sass, the gestures…
you can’t help but smile when you look at them.
On a personal note:MJ – Thank you so much for giving me the gift of getting to know you and your family. Thank you even more for being a mom who wants to get out and let her hair down once in awhile! I look forward to getting to know you more, toasting more drinks, and getting the families together !
(FYI for the folks who read this far – MJ asked me to get out of the damn house this past weekend and we had an awesome time at the Broadberry watching NO BS! Brass but that’s a blog post for another day!)
the importance of blogging, but I still hate it anyway.
I. hate. it.
Not to be too negative –
here’s an image of something I love
And with Easter right around the corner, feel free to send me some.
I don’t do words.
Ask my ex-boyfriends, or better yet, my ex-husband! HAHA!
It’s why photography is my niche. I can tell a story and paint a picture with images, not words. Ask me to say something heartfelt?… Not going to happen.
When I tell a story verbally, I usually end up with people staring wide-eyed with an expression of “when is this going to end” or “what the hell is she talking about”.
I’m just not good at it.
IT’S WHY I HATE BLOGGING.
IT’S WHY I WOULD PAY SOMEONE TO DO THIS FOR ME.
IT’S WHY I’LL NEVER BE ON PAGE 1 OF GOOGLE BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO BLOG AND I HATE IT AND I’M ONLY DOING IT TODAY BECAUSE I’M SICK AND I FIGURED I’D TRY. SO THERE.
I’d much rather be surfing instagram for funny meme’s about cake. I have been sick for 3 days, the flu and strep have stomped all over our household, so cake sounds like a good present for this weekend.
BUT back to blogging. Mine will be short. They will be intuitive, captivating, and sometimes not about photography at all. I don’t care what business blogging 101 says. Sometimes, I’ve got other stuff to talk about, gripe about, laugh about, or say.
Now here’s a photo of my view from a beautiful bed and breakfast near Wintergreen Resort in Virginia.
We just completed another fabulous bridal photography session. This shoot took us to downtown Petersburg, VA. The weather turned out amazing without it feeling scorching hot. Check out a few Teaser Frames HERE
I know I promised these images sooner! Get this… we got BUSY! Woo hoo! Business is picking up and I am so excited to finally show you guys how amazingly hot this woman is.
She wanted her shoot to reflect how her husband sees her in the morning, after work, and at night. She is seductive, beautiful, and such an awful tease in these images! I absolutely loved photographing her.
Check out this photo J took of a set of wedding rings!
J and I work really well together because he’s the portrait landscape guy, and I’m the portrait-person gal. We both have creative bloodlines which drive us to imagine various perspectives of a single item/person/area. Which leads me to this….
I challenged J to create an artistic image with an engagement ring and wedding band. Can you tell how he did it? Comment below and I’ll reveal his secret within the next week.
It’s super easy and adds an incredible dimension to decor at any venue!

I have been waiting for a few years to indulge in such an amazing piece of equipment for my art. I couldn’t wait to order my brand new camera! THE, (and yes “the” needs to be capitalized), THE Canon 5D Mark III.
I followed the tracking order all the way to my house for the next week…..then…..
And the package, not been opened, still is sitting still is sitting,
Atop the wooden buffet shelf right next to my front door;
And the box has all closed seams, of a package that is teasing,
And the lamp-light o’er it streaming throws its shadow on the floor;
Stole this excerpt from the Raven, Thanks Poe, I’ll do poems
So here it is, 3 weeks later, and finally, FINALLY, this weekend I will get to play with my new toy! I am very much looking forward to it and will post some new photographs soon !
